Language tutoring and language instruction are very different
concepts.  Tutoring is not necessarily about teaching someone to speak
Spanish but about assisting a student in improving grades in Spanish class
and/or passing a Spanish test. It has a short-term and very measurable
academic goal.

Having taught elementary, middle school and high school Spanish myself, I
understand what it takes to help your child to see Spanish as much more
than just “the class where he/she is not doing well”. After all, children and
teens like to have fun while learning as much as any adult.

An essential condition for successful tutoring is consistent communication
between your child’s teacher and the language tutor. So make sure to have
the teacher’s contact information handy when calling to discuss tutoring
services.
